Hi Shazza,
Sorry it is the 11th hour...thus the picture
quality is poor, as it is
night, but here is
my entry for the 2nd Artastic challenge I
have
entered into - what an amazing picture
for inspiration! If I had seen
this picture
as a little girl, I would have looked &
looked for hours,
it is one that you can see
something different in it each time you take

a peek.
Had fun with inks & flowers & pearls & got
all the criteria for this
one....the bridge
is a bit abstract, but I am sure that
doesn't really
matter...cos I really enjoyed
thinking & working on this one. Lovely

challenges these...thanks Shazza.
Cheers,Deb Clark

Tuesday 20 April 2010

Here's a great entry :) from ..........

Tanya Soutar - The Long Way to Venus Bay

Hiya Shazza
Gave it a go, am happy with my result.
I tried in vain to put all the criteria but unfortunately a gazebo just didn't go with my layout. I even thought of cheating with a genius idea of putting the word "gazebo" from an old dictionary but alas it didn't look right!
Anyhoo the top lhs has the lampost (ours in the street) and a bridge, most gorgeous one in Kilcunda east and green roofed house with street sign arrow bottom rhs.
It made me really think outside the square - so thanks for the challenge. Cheers - artsy fartsy mumma.

PS: photographing it so the colours came out right was a challenge in itself LOL. x

Hey Tanya! That is the best bridge photo ever, I love the old pylongs. Gorgeous little green roofed house, you did real well with the criteria.... I couldnt get it all on my sub either! thanks for playing along. great job! - Shazza

Sunday 18 April 2010

This is a beauty from another newbie!

Tarrah McLean - Ridgewood

Hi Shazza,
Thanks for the invite to join in on the challenge.
I have given it a go and think I have all the criteria.
Green roof is the house in the photo. The bridge and gazebo are the smaller photos. There is an arrowed signpost on the bottom left under the lamp post.
Thanks again Shazza, -Tarrah McLean

Hi Tarrah, thanks for taking the time to do a layout and join our challenge this month. I really love the photo you used... look at all that greenery around your house :) Love your flower with the metal brad, and the scroll up in the corner really stands out. you managed all the criteria, fantastic!!
Well done, you did a great job! - Shazza

Friday 16 April 2010

Heres another great layout from another newbie ....

Yolanda Bravery - Home

Dear Shazza,
Attached is my entry for the April Challenge. It was a real challenge to include all of the criteria, but I managed it! - yolanda

Hey Yolanda, you did a great job of the challenge, and added everything perfectly. Love the pic of your home in the UK, it looks smashing!! Beautiful page with the added fence, key and flowers. Great take!! - Shazza

Sunday 11 April 2010

Here is another great entry from....

Dale Tiernan - Mickey Mouse

Hi Shazza,

This was a tricky one. I have everything except a bridge. Most items are in the photo top right.

Dale

Ooh this is great Dale! Who doesnt like Mickey Mouse! Great idea to use the photos with the criteria for this challenge. Well done - Shazza

Wednesday 7 April 2010

WOW! Another fantastic layout to share, this time from .....

Sarah Elliott - Family Christmas Tradition

Here is Sarahs Journaling:
Family Christmas Traditions - Our Christmas Traditions
Every Christmas we take out our very Special
Countdown Calendar ... We move Little Bear from
spot-to-spot as he's looking for Christmas. The TV
springs up a gorgeous Winter Village that looks so nice
at night all lit up.

Great Christmas page Sarah. Love the cutouts of the embellies for your criteria, there is so much to look at :) also, love your arrowed sign post pointing to the Christmas Village. This is great - Shazza

Now!! Here's a gorgeous entry from.......

Dawn Hage - Belmont Home

Hi Shazza, When I saw the Thomas Kinkade painting I smiled as I had picked up a Thomas Kinkade desk calendar a month ago and love his paintings.Tried to get the colours used in his paintings and the home is the house I spend my teenage years in. Have used all the criteria. Dawn

What a beautiful page, how great to have the calender to work from, he really has some beautiful artwork.I love the mottled look of your background c/s and the dark brown border and tags just look fabulous againt it! Love the black and white pic of the house you grew up in :) You have captured a great memory here.! Well done - Shazza.

Sunday 4 April 2010

We have an entry from a newbie........

Vanessa Waller - Was our House

Hi Shazza

Well I have finally given it a go. Never done this before for inspiration but thank you. I have scrapped our old house where we lived for 10 years, the girls did the majority of their growing up there, the gardens had lovely purple daisies and inside we did actually have minature paintings of Thomas Kinkade's given to me from my American friend (shown in my layout being the gazebo and the bridge).

Now I think I have covered the criteria
I have used the colours from the actual painting as the background (created by me - I used the painting and smudge it in photoshop).
Arrowed street sign - being the name of the street our house was in.
Lamp - I have added the family name to pose as our outside light
and the green roof is on the photo of our house.

Thanks again for a great challenge.

Love Ness (Vanessa Waller)

Wow! Vanessa this is truely a beautiful entry for the challenge. The background gives it a soft pastel look. Adding your surname to the lamp was a great idea and I loved how you used the miniatures of Thomas Kinkades other paintings and included them in the layout. Well done!!
- Shazza

Saturday 3 April 2010

Aprils inspiration will come from the painting 'St Nicholas Circle' by Thomas Kinkade

St Nicholas Circle criteria:

Use this inspiration to scrap your house, the street where you live, beach house, street scape etc......

Note - this does not have to be a winter scene

Added criteria - Each item added to your page = 1 bonus point
1) Lamp
2) Arrowed sign post
3) Bridge
4) Rotunda/Gazebo
5) Green roofed house Total = 5 points

All items have been taken from the painting

ENJOY!!

And number three is from....

Julene Matthews - Goulburn Snow Day

Hi Shazza and before I forget,Happy Easter!
I tried to replicate the mountains and clouds in the top half of my layout.I dabbed paint using a sponge, blending the colours, then embossed the snow line with white ink.(It has a glossy texture in real life) As soon as I saw the painting it reminded me of when we first lived in Goulburn. We woke up one morning to record snowfalls overnight. My husband drove to the top of Rocky Hill and took these panorama shots. The house is one we rented for a few months until we built our own house.I managed to get a signpost,a lantern(from a Christmas card) and a bridge(stamped) on my layout. There was green guttering on the house. - Julene

Hey Julene, your clouds are fantastic, they really look like icy clouds :) Love that you are using different techniques on your pages. It's great your hubby managed to get a pic cause that does not happen very often in the Goulburn. you did well with your embellies, and dont worry i didnt even manage to get a bridge on my submission. Well done Julene and loved you little story! - Shazza

Here's our second entry..

Aileen Herne - Bridge over Water

Hi Shazza

Well I certainly had my thinking cap on for this challenge lol

In the Lo I have 5 of the Added criteria

a Lamp, arrowed sign, Bridge across the top of my home, Green roofed rotunda

Aileen

Well done Aileen, this has come together just beautifully, I love your sign post, it just looks fantastic on the page with the flowers around it. Great idea to make a bridge across the top of the pic of your home. Great work - Shazza

Friday 2 April 2010

Our first entry for the month comes from...

Rhonda Barnes - Walhalla

Hi Shazza,
This entry I decide to use photo from a recent visit to Walhalla, using the brochure from the Walhalla goldfields railway which had a great old bridge that you went over when you rode the train. The history of this place was amazing, old rotundas and old monsonic lodge with a green roof. I also including a lamp and arrow sign post and including an old hat.
Thanks
Rhonda

Great entry Rhonda, great photo of the old rotunda and green roofed lodge. Love your old lamp, goes with the olde worlde pics. I have been to Walhalla, its a great historical town :) Well done - Shazza

Come meet our Guest DT member for the month.......

Maria Delo

Hi Shazz,

And thanks for having me as your Guest Designer for April, well girls my name is Maria aka Capswife as I’m known on some forums, I’m a military wife and mom to 8 so scrapping is a form of escape in my life, I tend to go into the scrapping zone on too many occasions…….

I was introduced to scrapping via a Creative memories workshop, but then kind of found my way into the real kind of scrapping thru Scrap with V workshops, my gosh I am so thankful that I found this place and went in other directions….

My style is totally shabby in nature I love to bring mixed media into my work, so in the last year or so I really have come into my own style and I’m not afraid to try something new anymore, from vintage papers, to recycled packaging everything that I look at I think hmmm can I use this in my work lol…. Nothing is safe from me anymore….

I’ve been on a few design teams two for challenge blogs and one for an Australian one but I have stepped down and am now focusing on my own things and just creating OTP’s doing international OTP kind of swaps and doing monthly challenges, I have my own little forum which I have created as my home base mainly it’s a place for me to come and share techniques, inspirational people and places and just chat with my friends here is the link if you want to stop by and say hello http://thescrapartistwithin.forummotion.com/index.htm

Marias blog can be found here: http://ajourneythatstartshere.blogspot.com

Here are some of Marias stunning pages and projects:

Now I apologise for all these being thumbnail size, Maria sent them to me via photobucket as I think her camera or computer was playing up and she couldn't email me directly :(
If I try and increase the size that just blurrr out of focus. You can view Maria's work on her blog:
