Lastly, heres a submission from our newest DT member...

Peggy Schenkels - Kind Eyes

This is a picture of my husband and our German Shepherd "Jenny", who passed away a little over 2 years now. We still miss her every day. My husband and Jenny had a special bond, which I think is truly visible in this picture.
Though I wasn't particularly fond of this month's painting, I did like the criteria and I do love the result of my LO, which goes to show you don't have to be a huge fan of a painting to draw inspiration from it.
I managed to cover all of the criteria ...
Family member and pet: check
Brown and orange shades: check ... I wouldn't have thought of adding these shades to this picture myself, but I do like this combination, and I was so excited to find this orangy cloud paper ... Just perfect!
Tropical plant: check ... Well, I don't think it's a tropical plant really, but pink leaves do look a bit tropical, no??? LOL. I cut out the leaves from a piece of fabric and hand stitched it to the page ... Love the result of fabric on a LO, I will have to do this more often.
I hope you like it Shazz.
Love Xxx Peggy

Hi Peggy!
This has turned out a treat!! What a great photo of your husband and Jenny :) I love your stitched fabric tropical plant, it looks fantastic!! The orangy cloud paper adds a nice touch. Great work Peg, as always lol - Cheers Shazza

Boy!! Have I been waiting a long time to get this lady on the team, please make welcome another new DT member!!!

Peggy Schenkels

Here's some info about Peggy :)

Hi, my name is Peggy, and I live in Antwerp, Belgium. I'm 38 years old, wife to Kurt, we've been together for nearly 20 years now, and SAHM to three beautiful children, the loves of my life. My son Yannis is 10, my daughter Chloƫ is 9, and my daughter Christina will turn 8.
In the beginning of 2008, I was searching the net, trying to come up with ways to liven up my photo albums when I came across some scrapbooking sites... The rest is history, I was hooked immediately. Ever since, I've been obsessed about everything that has to do with scrapbooking. I love making pages of today's happenings which will once be fading memories, I love working with my hands, being creative, but what I love most about it is seeing myself grow, trying out new techniques and finding out which things I love most. I've been into doodling, a litte while back I didn't think a LO looked finished without adding some stitching, and lately I've been wanting to slap paint on every single LO. The only thing I would like to change is the fact that I'm such a slow scrapper! It takes me days to finish a LO, even if I'm not really working on it, I'll leave it somewhere where I can see it in passing, trying to find ways to improve it. I admire people who can make little works of art in a matter of hours, minutes even, but that's never going to happen, I know LOL. Stil, I've accepted this, and now for me all that really matters is that I myself like the end result. Bottom line, scrapping makes me happy!
If you'd like to see more of my work, you can come and visit me at my blog:
http://peggy-s.blogspot.com/. I'm always happy to make new friends.

Xxx Peggy

Here are just a few of Peggy's extraordinary layouts. Please visit Peggy's blog you really will be amazed!! I love her work because it is arty and creative. Peggy also scraps the goodtimes and even the bad and she is not ashamed to put down on paper exactly how she feels!
I would have to say that she is my scrapbooking role model :)

Here is this months submission from our newest DT member.......

Robin Jenkins - Just Us

Here is my submission for the September Challenge. I did this LO on my mother-in-law, Arvis, and her beloved dog, Coco. She adopted Coco from our local animal shelter, about 3 years ago and they've been devoted to each other ever since. The pics were taken recently during one of our outings to the beach.
Best regards,
Robin

What a great inspirational page Robin, I love the angled photo of your mother-in-law and Coco, beautifull pp's you have used and your tropical flowers look great! All criteria covered ! Well done!! - Cheers Shazza

Come meet our newest DT member......

Robin Jenkins

Hi Shazza, I hope you are well! First I want to thank you again for this wonderful opportunity to join your team--I feel so honored! I would like to say about my family that my husband Charles, daughter Temple and I have lived in sunny Florida for the last 5 years now, however we are originally from New York City. Charles works as a Financial Advisor for a major financial services firm and I work for a large (and very sound!) regional southeastern-based bank. Our daughter, Temple is in the first grade and is a straight-A student!
My first passion, of course, is scrapbooking but I also love to read, sew, hang out with my good friends and cook which I learned from my beloved Grandma who is no longer with us--but she was from the deep south, so southern cooking is what I do best!
Again, Shazza, thanks so much for this opportunity.
Best regards, Robin

Frida Kahlo submission from our Guest DT member this month.......

Irit Shalom - His Kind of Pet

THE ART PIECE:I DECIDED NOT TO DO A LO ABOUT OUR ONLY PET- ALSO SHE IS A LOVELY ALBINO CAT, BUT IT WAS BORING SO I FOUND THIS PHOTO OF MY WORLD TRAVELLER SON AMIR WITH THIS CROCODYLE AND HERE IT IS- HIS KIND OF PET PAGE. THE SAME MOMENT I WAS TAKING A PHOTO OF IT TODAY THE NEWS ON TV WERE SHOWING A .. CROCODYLE PETS IN AUSTRALIA- AS THIS IS NOT A REGULAR KIND OF PET AFTER ALL ALSO THIS AUSSI LADY NAMED VICKY HAS 2 OF THESE AS HER PETS AND SHE SAID NOW ON TV THAT THEY HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SMILE EVER.
I NEED TO SAY THAT IS WAS NOT AN EASY JOB TO DO ORANGE AND EXOTIC FLOWER FOR PET'S PAGE- BUT IT WENT GREAT WITH EXOTIC PET IN EXOTIC PLACE OF SOUTH AMERICA
THE ONLY OTHER COLOR WAS FROM MY SON'S OLDEST EVER PANTS, I USED THE REAL PENDANT HE BROUGHT WITH HIM AND I USED STICKERS- THING THAT I NEVER USE, BUT BUY.
SO MY STICKERS THANK YOU FOR A CHALLENGE - IRIT

Hi Irit, Love your exotic take on the challenge and what an unusual Pet of your sons! You have to have a special licence to own a crocaodile in australia, i must admitt I dont know anyone that owns one! love the exotic flower you used and also the pic of the crocodile. Love the pendant you added aswell! you have covered all the criteria which is great. Well done!! - Shazza

Irit Shalom...our Guest DT member for September

I'm so happy to introduce Irit Shalom our Guest DT member for September.

Irit has been a regualar contributor to Artastic challenges for many months, I love her creative and diverse scrappy style. Let's here more about her.......

Hi!! I am IRIT and I am from sunny ISRAEL. In my "real life" I have been a dentist, but for last 3 years I do it as a part time job, because I need some extra time to run my Israeli online scrap shop and I have a lot of fun doing something else after 25 years of teeth. I have been married for 28 years to a retired high police officer and the full time family cook these days. I am a mom to 4 grown ups: 2 sons and twin daughters and the empty nest is probably the main reason for my obsession for crafting - finally I have some time for myself. My oldest son is a high army officer and recently married. The second one is " a world traveler" - for last 4 years after his army service he is out of Israel for at least 9 months a year. This year he lives in Spain and works there. My twins are in their second year of college and my scrapbooking inspiration. I need to say that I have been totally addicted to crafting since I was a little girl. For many years it was polymer clay and jewelry making, but after I've seen scrapbook LO for the first time in my life (only 5 years ago during my visit to USA) I understood finally that I am in love with paper. Today I mostly scrap and do altered art and less a card making. I am a real challenge blogs frick, made about 7-8 DT on challenge blogs. I also design for UK chipboard company named Tando creative, Gingersnap creations challenge blog - mostly mixed media art and I am in SNR WEB MAGAZINE staff. I was published in print in Israel several times and was published in every possible web magazine during the last year. Finally my other addiction is..... folk dancing. So if I am not in my crafting room- I am probably dancing If you want to see a bit of my work you can visit my blog. HAVE A GREAT DAY!! XOXO

Here's another submission :(

Shazza Bishop - HotDog

....Have you stopped laughing!!!!.....As you can see this is not my best layout, infact its probably rates as my worst :(
Definately not going to win any sub points from the other DT's this month lol
My excuse....... I'm under the pump this month and really did not put any thought into this (As if you can't tell!!)
However I do love this photo of Nick (DD's Boyfriend) and Duke our Chihauhau, the journalling reads.....'Nick keeping Duke warm on a cold winters day! Duke's happy tucked into Nick's hoodie'!! - Cheers Shazza

http://shazzacraft.blogspot.com/

Next! A fantastic DT submission from.....

Melissa O'Neill - About Stanley

Hi Shazza, I totally loved doing the September challenge, just so into journalling at the moment, as I started to go back in my albums and really missed journalling on some of my layouts. Hope you like my September sub, Brown and orange, my poodle Stanley and those little flowers are mini orchid blooms (only joking) but they are cute little orange flowers. - Mel

http://aussiescrapper68.blogspot.com/

Hi Mel! How cute is Stanley, what a gorgeous little poodle! Love the photos of Stanley with your friend Jan :) Love how you sectioned your layout and journalled on each side of the photos.......It's great to catch up on some journaling on some older layouts. Great work Mel! - cheers Shazza

Another talented DT members submission......

Lisa Hanrahan - US

Hi Shazza,

Shelee and I have attached our layouts for you! We have scrapped the same photo but I used a black and white photo and Shelee used a colour one .

Here are the details for my layout:

Title: 'Us'
"Shelee kindly shared a gorgeous photo of her and Holly with me, as I have no pets in my family (unless you count my husband!!.... LOL). I included browns and oranges, a single fabric flower and Shelee with her pet. The pearl leaves on the layout match the leaves in the background of the painting."
Cheers!
Vanilla

http://essence-vanilla.blogspot.com/

Hi Lisa! Gorgeous scrapping using the same photo as Shelee, I love the design of this page and I would love to use it as a sketch, it thats ok :) Love your tropical flower and your bling is just a perfect addition. All criteria covered!! Love your work - shazza

Here is a great inspiring submission from DT member......

Shelee Lark - I know this much is True

Title: 'I Know This Much Is True'
"Here is a recent photo of Holly and I. This LO
proves that she is a very spoilt animal. She
would only eat her bone if she was sitting on
my lap and I was holding it for her. I was
inspired by the colours of the painting. I
tried to use lots of Autumn tones including
browns and oranges, the photo shows me with my
pet and I have created my own version of a
handmade tropical flower!"
Shelee :)
http://scrappinupastorm.blogspot.com/

Hi Shelee! what an inspiring submisssion this
month with your handmade tropical flower.
Your Holly must be a tadd spoilt if you have
to hand feed her lol love you choice of pp and
colors in your layout, just beautiful
..........as always!! :) - Shazza

Our next submission is from our youngest DT member.....

Talia Lynette - Max

I used a photo of me with my dog. I also used flowers in the top corner. I also used several orange and brown elements on the page (:
Thanks for the inspiration shazza (:

Hey Shazza....loved the painting this month, I've got all the criteria....a pic with a pet (Connor and Angel when they were both 6wks old. love this pic), orange and brown colours, and a single tropical plant or flower (didnt even know what a tropical one was lol, so in case its not tropical I also made it tropical colours lol).....thanks for the awesome
challenge
- Amanda

http://amandasscrappyjoint.blogspot.com/

Hey Amanda! I must say that photo of Connor and Angel is one of the cutest photos ever!! Funny about you not knowing what a tropical flower is!!! You live in tropical Q'Land woman!!!! ...lol sorry, I really had a bit of a laugh about that!!! :) You have covered all the criteria which is Great!! - Cheers Shazza

Our first Submission from one of our Design Team members!

Sarah Elliott - Brandy Gurl

I HAD to scrap my Brandy Gurl... she is my Baby Dog. My Daemon, always following me around.

This picture was taken *the* Christmas Day that Greg proposed. There was sooo much excitement going on around me and she wanted to be close, so she jumped up on the back of the couch and wrapped herself OVER my shoulders, like a puppy-fur collar. She has some claws on her I can tell you, ow! and she's no lap-dog. (husky-chow chow-lab mix)
Please excuse the Bunny nibble out of the bottom left corner... I think Hope was jealous I didn't scrap her. *giggle*
Chatterbox Chipboard tile title & corner pieces, puppy print strips cut from PP, Rub-Ons from Fancy Pants, 7 Gypsies ATC cards (dogs & list) orange Glimmer Misted, Felt flower is a coaster with the princess button in the middle and the Seed Packet was printed of Clip-Art (I cut it big and folded all the edges back to make it look like a 'real' packet... then ripped the corner so it looked used).

http://keepsakescrafts.blogspot.com/

Oh! I love this Sarah!! I love your Brandy gurl :) she is so sweet and I love the way she has wrapped herself around your shoulders in the photo...how cute!! I love the tropical flower on the front of the (pretend !!) seed packet lol. You have covered all the criteria thats great. Love your work - Cheers Shazza
