Welcome to May ...

We are now making it even easier to enter our challenges - use our inlinkz gallery on the left or click onto our new Facebook public group (ARTastic challenges) and put your entry directly into our monthly album under photos.

This month our inspiration comes to you by
Reginald (Reg) Earl Campbell with "Still life with daffodils".  12th of May is Mother's Day here in Australia and one of the biggest retail days in the year for florists - what Mum doesn't like receiving beautiful blooms ...

CRITERIA - Use flowers

Please remember - You may combine your entry with 3 other challenges only.

A little about Reginald (Reg) Earl Campbell ...

Reg Campbell was a self-taught painter specialising in landscapes and portraits. Having grown up in Sydney and served in New Guinea during World War 2, he moved to Bathurst to work as a signwriter. In time, he moved to Sunny Corner, via Rydal, and established a gallery, where he painted hundreds of competent conventional landscapes and flower pieces. He was a Wynne finalist eight times, and twenty-five times an Archibald finalist between 1952 and 1990, his Archibald subjects including Don Bradman, Bob Dyer, Norm Provan, John Laws and Evonne Goolagong. He made scores of portraits on commission, his biography stating that he painted ‘approximately 100 knights of the realm’ and nine bishops and archbishops. In 1990 he won the Archibald People’s Choice Award at the Archibald with a self-portrait.

And now some inspiration from our team ...

With lots of pretty flowers ...

I LOVE flowers so really enjoyed creating this layout using Kaisercraft Sage & Grace papers, lots of fussy cutting, a bit of mixed media in the background, and of course, lots of flowers!

Sharon Bishop - (Australia)

My Jenna and her friend Ellen back in 1995, celebrating Ellen's birthday. Using a line of mixed flowers!

Karen Brierley - (Australia)

When I'm not scrapping, I love to spend time in the garden. I have used the FLOWER theme in my photograph, and my embellishments.

Tanya Heritage - (Australia)

I knew I had to use a photo of my Mum when I saw the criteria was to use flowers on your layout. Mum was an avid gardener and made all her neighbours jealous of how beautiful her garden was.

Dale Tiernan -  (Australia)

Flowers aren't something I use a whole lot of. Week before last I actually went through and sorted all my flowers in the hope that I would use them more. Great timing with this particular challenge.

Jane Howden - (Australia)
I decided to use some of the colours in the artwork (yellow, cream, green and brown) as well as included the flower criteria.

Our main prize winner this year will be selected by random draw - so anyone could be a winner, no matter your style or your level of experience or your country of residence. If there are more than 8 entries in the month a second prize (donated each month by one of our team) will be drawn.
