Welcome to August ...

We are now making it even easier to enter our challenges - use our inlinkz gallery on the left or click onto our new Facebook public group (ARTastic challenges) and put your entry directly into our monthly album under photos.

This month our inspiration comes to you from Grace Crowley with Abstract.

CRITERIA - Use shapes (any) on your entry

Please remember - You may combine your entry with 3 other challenges only.

A little about Grace Crowley ...

Grace Crowley (1890-1979) was instrumental in the development of Modernism and Abstract art in Australia. She studied at Julian Ashton’s school before going to France, where she studied in the 1920's under Cubist artists AndrĂ© Lhote and Albert Gleizes. On her return to Australia, she and fellow modernist Rah Fizelle established an art school devoted to the principles and practice of Modern art.

And now some inspiration from our team ...
(in no particular order)

Karen Brierley - (Australia)

I used geometic shapes, fussy-cut from the background patterned paper.

Annemarie Caister - (New Zealand)
Image may contain: 1 person
I used papers, flowers, buttons and dies from my stash to create this layout

Karen McLaughlin - (Australia)

No photo description available.
I have gone for hearts and hexagons.

Sharon Bishop - (Australia)
No photo description available.
The front cover to my new album 'becoming minimalist'. Perfect shapes(a square, Triangle and two rectangles) to form a house for my new journey!

Tanya Heritage - (Australia)

My eye was really drawn to the yellow tones in the inspiration artwork. Not only did the photo suit the colour but the shapes of the tiles were perfect for the criteria.

Dale Tiernan -  (Australia)
No photo description available.
I've used circles, hearts and squares. Also chose some of the colours from the picture.

Jane Howden - (Australia)
Circles and rectangles and colours from the artwork ...
