Our inspiration this month comes to you from Adrian Feint with The Green Hen.

CRITERIA - Feature things that fly in some way

A little about Adrian Feint ...

Adrian Feint (1894-1971) studied at the Sydney Art School with Julian Ashton after having served in the AIF in France and Belgium in World War I, during which he was praised for gallantry. Director of the Grosvenor galleries from 1924 to 1928, he came to specialise in commercial art, illustration and bookplate design. An exhibition of his bookplates was held at the Library of Congress, Washington DC in 1930. At the end of the 1930s he gave up on illustration to concentrate on oil painting, in the techniques of which he was advised by Margaret Preston. Over the 1940s he gained a modest following for his flower pieces and landscapes, which include The Jetties - Palm Beach (1942), described by his biographer Roger Butler as a 'potent' work. Sydney Ure Smith published Adrian Feint Flower Paintings in 1948. Remarkably handsome, with a reputation for impeccable taste, Feint lived austerely in a flat in Elizabeth Bay until his death in Sydney at the beginning of the 1970s.

I went with fairies and flutterbies, dressed with pink and glitter. I painted the chipboard butterflies on both sides and attached to clear acetate. The butterflies remain 'suspended' in the pocket and can be seen from both sides of the page.

Spring. I have used 2 birds, a butterfly and and dragonfly. Also have the colour scheme.

'To fly is to Dream!' - I went with the colours in the inspirational photo and used kites as my flying item!

Fairies can fly... so can butterflies, bees and dragon flies!

I went with a butterfly theme in patterned paper, stamping and chipboard embellishments.

Please upload your entries directly to the monthly album in our Facebook public group (ARTastic challenges) by midnight on the last day of the month - please remember we are an Australian based challenge so do check your day and time. For anyone not on Facebook, simply email us your entry and if you have a blog, a link to that too so we can still pop past for a visit. You may combine your entry with 3 other challenges.
