Junes inspiration will come from the painting "Argenteuil" by Edouard Manet

"Argenteuil" by Edouard Manet
  (as suggested by Lisa Hanrahan)
Diva Demand for an extra 6 bonus points try and
work the following into your layout.

1. Two People in the photo = 1pt
2. Use striped pp = 2pts
3. Include a boat somewhere on the layout 3pts

NOTE - From June we are now looking for individual entries for ARTastic, you may combine your entry with a sketch but we no longer want entries that combine other challenges as we feel the ladies that do the right thing and take the time to enter independent entries are disadvantaged when it comes to winning prizes. If it means we lose a few entries, so be it!

The inlinkz post will go up shortly!

The Design Team have put together some great submissions,
so lots of inspiration to share with you all  :)

Entries for  "Argenteuil" will close
Tuesday 28th June at midnight.

Looking forward to seeing some great entries this month :)

Alycia Tedford

with her entry

Grundy Lake (mom and Dad)

Here is Alycia Blog address so you can go have a look and leave some lovely comments

Note - Inlinkz closed 12 hours before the challenge closed, and for some reason I couldn't change or fix it (I'm new to this!)
That is why I have added Alycia's entry to the blog :)

Saying goodbye to another DT member...

We would all  love to see you drop in to ARTastic in the future!

Shazza and the Artastic DT gals

Maggies submission....

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

Hi Shazza!

Here is my submission for your wonderful challenge. My take on this was to use the colours from the painting.
I have used three striped papers - two for the scalloped borders and one for the die cut label. You can hardly see the stripes on the label, but they are there :)
On the background paper I debossed lines, which I then painted with a light marker. I also inked the paper a little, wanted it to look like the deck on a boat.
Twine was used to remind of the ropes from the boats. There is no boat on my page, though.
A lace with hearts was used under the photo to add to the feeling of love.
I had great fun with this challenge, and I would love to participate in your future challenges.

Our guest DT member this month is......

Maggie R

Hi! My name is Margit Rasmussen, aka Maggie R. I’m a 47 years old stay at home mom to 3 cats☺ living in Norway together with my husband.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved to play with papers and colours.
Over the years I have also been playing a lot with textiles (patchwork) and yarn (knitting and crocheting).
In 2009 I joined an online course for the first time. It was "Willowing’s wonderful world of Whimsy”. This was good for me, who had never coloured outside the lines, and I learned that it’s OK to make a mess.
Later I have taken other online courses about art journaling and Coptic bookbinding.
A year ago I started cardmaking and then scrapbooking. I joined Soul Scrappers in September and found that challenges are a good thing for me. I often have to get out of my comfort zone (that's actually a good thing) and I feel that I learn a lot.
I like to use items I find around me in my scrapping, or make my own embellishments, such as crocheted flowers.
I love old buttons and lace, and are so lucky to have a mother who has plenty of that. Some of it is from my grandmother, too.
To get a lace or crocheted piece in a wanted colour, I paint it with markers, Glimmer Mist or ink and water.
It's a great honour for me to be ARTastic's guest designer for June, and I hope that many of you will join in and play with me.

Here are some wonderful pages from Maggie...

My Name is Karen, I'm mum to one gorgeous little man, Ashley.
I live in a little place called Cooloola Cove ( about 5 minutes from Tin can Bay) with my hubby and our little man. Who both normally take centre stage in my layouts..
I always seem to have my camera in my hand, and love taking pictures nearly as much as i do scrapping them.. goes hand in hand i guess..

It's been about 10 years give or take a little since i first found the thing that helps to keep me sane
in the crazy times.. Scrapping. I tend to do a lot of my pages 8x8 and love to add a bit of stitching and a cluster here and there.

ARTastic is my first chance at being on a design team. I'm really looking forward to working with Shazza and the other talented ladies on the ARTastic design team, and am ever so grateful to Shazza for giving me this wonderful opportunity,
I just hope you all enjoy my work..

Shazza 's submission.....

Beach Morrow' Hot Day

My Jarred (on the right) with his little beach buddy Luke.

When Jarred was little, he used to say 'Beach morrow Hot Day' Which meant...... Can we go to the beach tomorrow if its a hot day. Camping on the foreshore at Ocean Grove in 1989.

Robin Jenkin's submission......

Love Overboard

Hi Shazza, hope you are well.  Here is my submission for June.  I've used striped paper, I paper-pieced a sailboat (got the pattern from Scrapbooks, etc) and there's the picture of DH, Charles and me!  I've used my Don Juan cricut cartridge to cut out my title.  I tend to do the majority of my LOs of DD, Temple, so it was refreshing to do a LO of us (thanks, Lisa, for the inspiration!)  My title is also from one of my favorite songs by Gladys Knight and the Pips.
Best regards,

Peggy Schenkel's submission....

Je t' adore

Hi Shazz,
Attached you'll find my june submission "Je t'adore", which is French for "I adore you".  When you see the look my daughter ChloĆ« is giving her older brother, you'll understand why I've chosen this title.  They were 3 and 4 in that picture ... They're 10 and 11 now, and looks of adoration between the two of them are becoming more and more sporadic, so this picture is like a little treasure to me.
Thanks again for a lovely challenge Shazza, I particularly liked this one!  Your challenges always make me add that little something extra to my pages I otherwise wouldn't have thought of...

Michelle Lark's submission......

You and Me

Hi Shazza,

Here is my 'nautical' themed layout for June. I have included all of the required criteria - striped PP, a boat and two gorgeous little girls in my photo. Another wonderful challenge and a great painting choice from Lisa!

Melissa O'Neill's submission.....

Reading Instructions

Hi Shazza, hope you are well, I hope you like my submission for June, I have used the boat which is a little charm from Tracy at My2angels and some striped papers of different kinds and their are two in all the photos. Just loved the criteria for this month and I am super happy with how it came out in layout form. Another memory I got down. Melxx

Debi Clarks submission....

The Captain and Me

This was a lovely inspiration, a beautiful Monet titled 'Argenteuil' - such
a quiet & gentle painting, what a beautiful place on the Seine it must have
But I used a fun photo of me with 'Capt Spratt' up top of the Cape Otway
Lighthouse, & loved finding some stripey paper & also some boats. I cut
these canoes from Websters Pages papers & I think they suit the page. Just
added some bits & bobs & voila it is my page done!
Thanks again, & til next month..happy scrapping
Cheers, Debi

Cecelia Blanco's submission.....

Sizzlin Summer

Hello Shazza;0)  Great inspiration this month!  I decided to take out the photos from our Kansas trip to my parents house last year. These are my three children inner tubing at the lake.  They had such a blast!  I have included all the criteria: two people in the photo, striped paper and a boat.  Hope you all enjoy my "Sizzlin Summer" LO;0)
Cecelia Blanco

Amanda Taylor's submission.....

Ready to Travel

hi shazza...... here is my submission for June, i loved the painting and the criteria....... i went a little different way with my layout, i didnt have a photo of us on a boat or anything, so i went with the travel theme in general and us being finally ready to travel now that Connor is getting older and not needing to worry about the hassle of travelling with a baby or toddler any more..................... ive got striped paper, more than 2 people in the pic and a boat(on the button)........ thanks again for the great painting for inspiration
