A last minute entry from......

Jen Fawkes - Caught ...

Here is my February entry for the "Venus" challenge. I certainly don't like photos of ME but this one is one of the worst - but it still tells a story.
I have a pic of ME, a mulitple of that pic and I'm wearing some wings on my head. Thanks again for a great challenge
cheers, Jen

Hey Jen!  Love your take on the challenge :)  I love how you got caught with your tongue out whilst concentrating....lol  At least you got to scrap an event from the Great Bike Ride!!  Like your black and white edging around the page and edging on the journaling tag :) Good Luck!!  and Cheers Shazza

A last minute entry today from ........

Kim Hutchinson - Balance

Hi Shazza,
This is my entry for February, just scraped in this month.
When I looked at the inspiration painting by Rubens it reminded me of how our brain is left and right sided so I decided to investigate how I think each side of my brain works.
The left spontaneous and creative and the right safe and logical.  I have really enjoyed looking into 'me' this month.
Have filled the criteria, me + me in mirror image, wings on the butterfly's.
Thank you for your hard work in maintaining your blog, such a lovely inspiratonal blog to read.  Good luck to all the ladies this month
there is some lovely, lovely work up.
My blog address is  http://kironee.blogspot.com/
  Cheers Kim

Hi Kim!
What a great idea for your challenge page. Gorgeous photos of you and love them in black and white. Great journaling strips too. The added butterflies give your page a lovely girly look. Love your style Kim...Well done! Cheers Shazza

Thursday 24 February 2011

Look! what just popped into my email box.......

Helene Bogren - Self Portrait

Hi Shazza!
I wanted to use this opportunity to make a portrait of myself using my favorite colors, embellishments symbolizing my different hobbies and a picture of me scrapping. The picture in the frame to the right is a photo transfer and the flowers (Hemerocallis) are pictures taken in our garden last summer. My hobbies are gardening, reading books and magazines, needlework and fashion. The fairy is symbolizing my wild fantasy… (I did one portrait of my husband too and you are welcome to take a look at them both at http://helenesscrapsida.blogspot.com/.
Cheers Helene

Hi Helene!  What a gorgeous page you have entered for the challenge! A lovely photo of you at your scrap table :) Great added fairy.....with wings!! I love that you included flowers from your garden. Well done! Cheers Shazza

You will like this entry from.....

Jane Howden - Me

Hi Shazza,

Just submitting my Artastic layout for February.  I had to think about this challenge as I loathe (really hate a whole big lot!) scrapping pictures of myself unless they are in a group context so I cheated just a teeny tiny weenie bit – lol.  So this is me in multiple pictures (hey two is more than one right?) and although they aren’t exactly the same, you have to give me points for ingenuity!  There are wings on the layout – tiny butterfly wings.
Thanks,
Jane

Thanks Jane for your entry this month, I love the blocking its really eye catching. Cute photos of you when you were a little girl :) I love the colors you used, its all come together so well! Love the little butterfly wings too...Well done!! Cheers Shazza

Another entry for the month from......

Melissa Pablo - Love Myself

hi miss shazza,
here is my take for this months challenge. it was a real challenge for me to scrap about myself because i don't usually scrap my photos. thank you for continue to push me to try something new. this is about my goal this year to love myself more because i tend to take myself for granted especially when it comes to my health. hope you like it.
isay :D
Great page Melissa :) I love the colors you have used, your little handmade flowers are gorgeous! I like your three snap shots of yourself and yes your right...I think we all take ourselves for granted especially our health! I love your heart embellies and your large stitched heart. Great work Melissa! Cheers Shazza

Thursday 17 February 2011

Here is a great entry from......

Dale Tiernan - Flutterby Girl

I have a very bright layout for you this month. It has all the criteria met. Wings on the butterflies, two identical photos of me (also butterfly wings on me) and of course it's about me. I like the blue and pink together. How about you?
The journalling reads "Most people at the meet and greet had a costume on. I didn't so I lined up to get my face painted as a butterfly."
Cheers Shazza, - Dale

Yes, its a very bright entry from you Dale :) Love the butterfly painted on your face. Your title font looks great! I'm not sure if I have done any pages with aqua blue and pink but its given me something to think about! Thanks for entering in the challenge this month. - Cheers Shazza

Look at this fabulous entry from....

Irit Shalom -Always

Shazza hello
Sorry I was not submitting for a few month- but life is too busy here, but I did this page  for your challenge this month
This is my  own very old wedding photo and I have wings on the paper - those angels on the corner, and also I didn't use mirrow   photo or  a second photo-  but just look over the cut paper girl- she is just like me, really she is and it just shocked me so that I decided to use it on my page
So pretty much is covered and it's the same very vintage style page as a prompt
Hope you like it
Irit Shalom

Hey Irit!!
Thanks for joining in this month! I must say you made a beautiful bride and the photo looks like an image from a movie :) I love this page and just adore the embellies you used. The paper cut out girl is awesome. I think you have done a great job of the challenge this month. Well done :) Cheers Shazza

We have a delightful page from a newbie.......

Jeanet Hoveling -Wake up Call

Hi Shazza,
Here's my very first entry for your fabulous challenges....finally ;)
Started this page thinking about myself like I imagined Venus would, staring at herself in the mirror, reflecting....
Life is really moving fast and I have to remind myself to live and to love myself, not waiting for that perfect time, just do it now!
So this is my wake up call.
Thanks for this great challenge Shazza and all the inspiration from your DT girls.
I'm definitely going to play again!!
Jeanet
Thanks for joining us this month Jeanet :)  I love your layout with all the strips of pp and random stitching....what a great base it has made for your layout. I also love how you split the little wing in two and added it to two different photos...great idea!!! Title is fab and love how you used the different fonts..... Great work!!
Cheers

Here is a great entry from one of our regular entrants.....

Julene Matthews - Farewell

Hi Shazza, Here's a layout from my wedding in 1982, where I was saying farewell to my one and only nephew.(He's now 36!) It is a special memory for me.I used a wedding proof of Nathan and his parents to echo the big picture.
The technique I used was embossing with copper foil using a stylus over a patterned picture frame. It went so well with the Rebecca Sower paper called Beeswax. There is a bee with wings, also in copper foil on the bottom left hand side. This was a great challenge, thank you. Julene Matthews
Julene! Love how you tried this embossing with copper foil technique on your entry! You have done so well - the swirly frame is the best!!  The little copper bee is so cute. Love the earthy colors of the whole layout, and that bees wax paper is awesome (note to self - must try and find some!) Very impressive work! Cheers Shazza

We have our second entry for the month and its from a newbie.....

Michelle Hernandez - Believe

A page for my lilttle cousin Ty who's photo reminded me to notice the joy in everyday things.
Page uses wings and a doubled image.
Thanks!
Michelle

Hi Michelle!
Thanks for joining us this month, its so nice to see some new artistic work in the gallery. You have done an excellent job of the challenge. I love how you interpreted the painting by adding color and gorgeous embellies. Love your style! The balloons and clouds look fantastic, and great pics of Ty :) Well done!
Cheers Shazza

Our first entry for the month comes from...

Karen Williams - Note to Self

Hi Shazza

Here is my entry for the Artastic challenge this
month
It's called "note to self" ( but I think it should
be subtitled a "touch of the Galileos" as I have
the look of Queen from Bohemian Rhapsody)
I have all the criteria
Its about me
there are wings ( butterflies)
and there are three of the same picture all taken
in the bathroom mirror this
morning!

I didn't really have an idea behind the LO before
I started so I stuck some little punched tags
behind the photos for messages one reads- don't
take pictures in the bathroom mirror!
Hope it's OK
Karen

Karen thanks for your entry this month...i see
what you mean about the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' look!
lol
Love the tag idea and the spotted pp just sets
the whole layout off...I love spots :)Great work
this month Karen!
cheers
Shazza
